JOB TITLE: Marketing Associate / Business Development / Online Producer
(PT Freelance 9a – 2:30p, M-F)
JOB SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of the Web Manager and Consulting Director of New Media, serves as a Marketing/Business Associate and Online Producer for Miami Bureau; promotes NBR website to schools nationwide as well as in social media networks.
Reaches out to business schools nationwide to inform them of online content available for classroom use; creates and maintains database of contacts; gathers feedback from schools on content and classroom use. Follows-up with on-air guests after broadcast to provide online links. Performs link-building outreach to bloggers and niche sites. Informs affiliate TV stations of content to encourage promotion and use. Promotes online content via social media outlets. Assists with online display and video ad schedules as well as in creating advertising landing pages on website.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING:
Recent College Graduate or student close to completion of B.A./B.S. degree with major emphasis in Multimedia, Mass Communications, Marketing or Journalism or equivalent work experience. (if student, 3.5 GPA and school/advisor approval needed)
Working knowledge Internet and social media tools. Experience in Customer Service preferred. Sound news judgment and confidentiality.
Organizational, research and development abilities. Team player with excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated judgment and ability to plan schedules, meet deadlines and multi-task with attention to detail and accuracy. Enthusiastic, self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
Proficiency with the following:
- Social Media Tools
- Windows, Microsoft Word, Outlook, Powerpoint, Excel and/or Access and database tools.
- Basic production skills in Photoshop
- Quicktime, YouTube and/or other video tools
- Blogging tools (Internet authoring CMS, WordPress or Expression Engine a plus), (HTML and Dreamweaver skills a plus)
MANUAL SKILLS AND DEXTERITY:
Typing and basic computer skills.
